Obituary for Melissa Ann Slone Melissa Ann Selfe Slone, age 54, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. She lived most of her life in Dickenson County and was a 1983 graduate of Clintwood High School. Mrs. Slone was a member of Clintwood Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Selfe; her paternal grandparents, Joseph and Vesta Selfe; and her maternal grandparents, Newton and Lura Mullins. Survivors Include: Her Husband: Donald Slone of Clintwood, Virginia Her Mother: Frankie Mullins Selfe of Clintwood, Virginia Two Sons: Wes Slone and wife, Beth of Clintwood, Virginia and Jordan Slone and wife, Becca of Pound, Virginia Two Step Daughters: Amy Dawn Slone and Katrina Slone, both of Kentucky Two Sisters: Brenda and husband, Jimmy Reynolds of Riner, Virginia and Gwen and husband, Michael Edwards of Clintwood, Virginia One Brother: Scotty Selfe of Clintwood, Virginia Five Grandchildren: Landon, Logan, Rylie, Reece, and Reagan Five Step Grandchildren: Ryan, Dustin, Kaleb, Hanna, and Brittany Three Great Step Grandchildren: Aiden, Braden, and Kashton Several Nieces and Nephews The family will receive friends, Friday, December 7, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at Clintwood Baptist Church with services to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Clintwood Baptist Church with Pastor Joe Hutchinson and Bill Kendrick officiating. Burial will follow in Phipps Memorial Cemetery, Clintwood, Virginia.
Family, friends, and members of Clintwood Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Clintwood Baptist Church and brothers in law. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Southwest Virginia Cancer Center, 671 Hwy 58 East, Norton, VA 24273 in Melissa Slone’s memory.
