Dr. Merle Menerey, a retired dentist born September 7, 1928 in Ann Arbor, Michigan and a 28 year resident of Prescott, passed away on January 8, 2018 after suffering a stroke recently. Merle was a long-time volunteer member of the local Sherriff’s Search and Rescue Posse. Merle, a graduate of the dental school at the University of Michigan, served in Korea in the Navy attached to the Marine Corp immediately after graduation.

Upon returning from service, he was a sole-practitioner dentist in Linden, Michigan for many years, where he and his wife Ruth raised his four surviving children Michael, Daniel, Kathleen and Timothy, who all followed Merle to the University of Michigan and are ardent Wolverine fans. Merle sold his dental practice in the late 70s and then moved to Albany, New York to work as a dental adviser for the State of New York dental program, where he met his second wife Mary. Merle then retired and moved with Mary to Prescott.

After Mary’s death, he married his wife Patty in 2009. Merle is survived by his wife Patty, his four children, four grandchildren, and soon to be five great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
