Obituary for Merril Harris (Smith) Merril Sue (Smith) Harris, age 80, passed away at home, on July 28, 2018, in Tucson, AZ, following a long courageous battle with leukemia. Sue was born at home on January 18, 1938 in South Bend, IN. She graduated from Tyner High School in Tyner City, IN in 1955.

In 1957 she married Norm Myers and traveled around the world as an Air Force wife. After her divorce, she moved back to Tucson and met Arnold Harris. They moved to Anchorage, AK in 1981, where she worked as a mortgage loan officer for Credco.

In 1993, as a widow, the company relocated her to Portland, OR where she stayed with the company until her retirement in 2003. At this time she again moved to Arizona to take care of her elderly parents. During her retirement years, Sue was very active in her church, continued to travel, and made sure the birds and other wildlife around her home were taken care of.

In 2014 she was diagnosed with AML (leukemia), she went into remission and continued her day to day activities until the leukemia relapsed in July 2017. Even her strong will and faith could not stop the AML this time. Sue was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother and most importantly a friend.

Sue is survived by her three children, whom she shared with her former husband Norman Myers, son and daughter-in-law, James and Hillary Myers, her daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Paul Fortier, and her” baby boy”, Roger Myers; two grandsons Dustin Kibat and Dylan Kibat; and one great grandson, Dawson Kibat. She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Geneva Smith; her husband Arnold Harris; and her infant daughter, Debra Myers. A memorial celebration is scheduled for Saturday, August 11, 2018, at 1:00 pm, at The Tucson Church of the Brethren, 2200 N. Dodge Blvd.
