Michael A. Bailey, loving husband and father to two daughters, passed away suddenly on November 6, 2018. Mike was born in Augusta, Maine on August 16, 1954 to Priscilla Bailey Caret and Frank Herbert Bailey and was raised in Calais, Maine. There are some lives that shouldn’t be summed by a list of events or accomplishments, but better by the connections and people he touched in his many journeys through life.

Mike is remembered for his sense of humor, his kindness and love… Read More » of meeting and learning about new people and ways of living. He was a lifelong educator through the school system and strong advocate for public education. He had strong opinions on things and loved a good debate.

MIke was creative and always thinking and dreaming. He loved interacting through games such as croquet, petanque, skiddles, darts or basketball. He lived life to the fullest and was always looking ahead to his next adventure.

Michael is survived by his patient wife, Debra Lopez Bailey; his daughters Lindsay and Kathryn and her husband Allen Deep; his sister, Patricia Bailey Webber, her husband Michael and his brother, Robert Bailey. He is predeceased by his parents Frank Bailey and Priscilla Bailey Caret and his brother Thomas. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 17th at the Waldo County Shrine Club, 20 Northport Ave.

Belfast, Maine at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Michael Bailey Scholarship ℅ Belfast Area High School 98 Waldo Ave. Belfast, Maine 04915.
