Michael’s Obituary MICHAEL ALLEN WOODS, 44, of Roseburg, Oregon passed away Friday, December 14, 2018. He was born in Alexandria, Virginia on April 12, 1974 to Debra and Thomas Woods, Sr. Michael was a graduate of Sutherlin High graduate and received his Master’s Degree in Economics from the U of O. He had many interests and hobbies, but the two that were at the top of his list were his love of the game Magic and his skill with fine woodworking, Michael will be dearly missed by his loving wife Lai Fong; his childhood best friend and brother Tommy Woods, Jr He also leaves behind 7 nieces and nephews on the Woods’ side.

The Magic group that meets at Nexus Games was a big part of his life. Michael was a mentor to many young people there and will be honored with a tournament every year on his birthday. Although Michael’s time with us was not nearly long enough, he touched many people’s lives through his kindness, loving nature, charisma, and his incredible sense of humor.

His passing brings us much sadness, but his life brought us much happiness. A memorial service for Michael will be held Monday, January 7, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Wilson’s Chapel of the Roses on Harvard Avenue. Following the memorial there will be a Celebration of Life at the Kowloon Restaurant.

Also that evening a special, shortened Magic tournament will be held in Michael’s honor at the same location beginning at approximately 4:30 pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions may be made in Michael memory to the American Cancer Society 2350 Oakmont Way Ste 200, Eugene, OR 97401. Please visit www.
