Houghton Michael “Mike” Bugielski died peacefully on November 13, 2017 in Marquette at the age of 72. He is survived by his children, Glen, Gabriel, and Katrina, several grandchildren, and his brother Charles and sister Nancy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Grace.

Mike was born on July 18, 1945 in Grand Haven, MI. He graduated from Grand Haven Senior High in 1963 and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served with distinction for over 20 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant.

His children remember him as a hard-working father who encouraged them to pursue their goals, while his grandchildren remember Grandpa Mike as an enthusiastic farmer and loving grandfather. Mike was accomplished at gardening and micro farming and often shared the fruits of his labor with family, friends, and neighbors from his lot in west Houghton. A funeral is scheduled for 1pm on October 26, 2018 at Plowe’s Funeral Home in Houghton.
