Michael Denton, age 57, of Douglasville, GA (Paulding County), passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018. He was born on October 11, 1960, in Dallas, GA, and was preceded in death by his father, Willis Woodfin Denton. Mr. Denton worked as a carpenter and was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son, Billy Denton of Rockmart, GA; daughter, Rita (Joseph) Silvers of Hiram, GA; mother, Minnie Opaline Denton of Dallas, GA; sister, Kathy (Sammy) Newman of Douglasville, GA; grandchildren, Janna Warren, William Warren, Gavin Silvers, Sierra Silvers, and Starr Silvers; nephew, Shannon (Cheryl) Newman; nieces, Alissa (Hector) Velazquez and Dana (Robert) Hults. Funeral services will be he held on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at 11 AM, from Clark Funeral Home, with Reverend Dorsey Denton officiating. Interment will follow in New Georgia Baptist Church Cemetery.

J.P. Denton, Billy Denton, Scott Silvers, Don Sheffield, Billy Abernathy, Shannon Newman, and William Warren will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, from 5 PM until 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Clark Funeral Home to assist the family will funeral expenses.
