Michael Edwin O’Brien March 24, 1969 – March 01, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Michael Edwin O’Brien, 49, was born March 24, 1969 to Ann & Joe O’Brien at St. Luke’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Fl. Michael was predeceased by his dad, Joe. He is survived by his wife Barbara, two sons, Ayden & Michael Ray, and his Mother Ann.

One step-daughter Miranda (Chris) Johnson, one sister-in-law Dottie Burch. Three Brothers-in-law Raymond, Johnny, and Jimmy Fink. Several Aunts, Uncles, nieces and nephews and many more friends.

Michael died on Friday March 1st at Haven Hospice after a short illness with cancer. Michael attended Assumption Catholic Grade School in Jax, Fl and went on to Bishop Kenny High School where he graduated. He was a member of the ROTC Unit at Bishop Kenny.

He served as Alter boy at Assumption Catholic Church. He played Little League Baseball and then Soccer. He played soccer at Bishop Kenny.

He also loved to surf. His real love was the Florida Gators. He bled orange and blue.

Football, baseball, basketball, he loved it all. He was a member if IBEW177 Local in Jax and worked as a Journeyman Electrician. Michael was a great cook and loved to entertain everyone with his many cookouts.

Michael was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Live Oak, Fl. Services will be held at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 5th at 11 am with Father Anthony Basso officiating. Interment will follow in the Live Oak Cemetery.

A visitation will be held at the Church from 10:00 am until service time. Pallbearers for his services: Danny Wynne, John Polefko, Vann Parrish, Johnnie Godwin, Kent Williamson, Patrick Siegle and Franklin Bridges. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
