Michael John Prihoda, 81, of Edinboro, died January 23, 2019 at Edinboro Manor. He was born at home in Spring Township, Crawford County, on November 29, 1937, the son of the late Michael and Julia Hoch Prihoda. Michael graduated from Edinboro High School in 1955.

On July 9, 1960 he married Elaine Campbell. He worked at Walker Brothers as a parts manager, and later he and his wife opened and operated Edinboro Auto Parts and Proud Printery. He also spent many years as an auto parts salesman in the NWPA area.

Most recently, he was custodian at Our Lady of the Lake Church, where he and his wife were members. He retired from there in 2000. Michael also volunteered with the Edinboro Fire Police for many years.

Michael was an avid bowler, regularly taking part in many state bowling tournaments, often with one or both sons as teammates. He really enjoyed listening to polkas, playing cards, researching family history, and meeting with his friends for coffee at many local establishments. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Joe Albrecht.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Elaine Prihoda; two sons, John (Rhonda) Prihoda of Warren, Dan (Lisa) Prihoda of Edinboro; three grandchildren, Jessica (John) Brooks of McKean, Ashley (Steve) Prihoda of Rochester PA, and Michael Prihoda of Edinboro; a sister, Margie (Paul) Perry of St. Charles, MO; a sister-in-law, Clara Mae Albrecht of Waterford, PA; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Edinboro Manor for their thoughtful and caring attention they provided in his time there. Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 26th at 11am at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 128 Sunset Drive, Edinboro.
