Michael Kent Blevins, 75, of Helix passed away at home on November 23, 2018. He was born on June 7, 1943 in Portland, Oregon to Thomas and Leliamae Blevins. His family moved to Paulina for a short time before settling in Helix.

He graduated from Helix High School and at 17 years, entered the Navy. He served two tours during the Vietnam War and was very proud of his military service to his country. In 1975, he was retired in Oak Harbor, Washington where he started a crabbing and diving business.

In the early 80’s, he moved his family back to Eastern Oregon. He took a job at the Army Depot as a downwind hazard blotter, retiring in 2003. Michael was very proud of his family.

He enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and liked to sing karaoke. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge, Moose Lodge, Elks and VFW.

Survivors include his wife Diana Blevins; children, Mike (and wife, Jean), Donald, Terra, Sally, Alan (and wife, Marylynn), Yvette (and husband, Jerry); cousin, Nellie Demaio and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
