Michael R. German, Sr., 81, of Woolford, passed away on September 13, 2018 at his home. He was born in Baltimore on July 16, 1937 to the late Michael August German and Doris Waller German. Michael served in the United States Army.

He was a barber for 58 years, 37 of which he owned his own shop, Mike’s Barber Shop. On May 3, 1986, Michael married the former Carolyn Lewis. He loved to fish, shoot pool, and play gin rummy.

He was a member of the Cambridge Elks Lodge 1272 and the Mid Shore Fishing Club. Michael loved his family and was always a loving grandfather to his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Carolyn German, his son Michael R. German, Jr., step children Laura Wheeley and Patrick Mastronardi, his grandchildren Tyler Wheeley, Catherine Wheeley, Vincent Mastronardi and Vivian Mastronardi, and his brother Thomas German.

At Michael’s request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Baywater Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Rd. Cambridge, MD 21613.

Arrangements are in care of Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
