Michael Ray Hendrix, 71, of Monterey and formerly of Staunton, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Avante at Harrisonburg. He was born April 22, 1947 a son of the late James Ray and Jesse Ruth (Boaz) Hendrix. Mike spent 65 years in and around Staunton before moving to Monterey in 2012.

Mike was an Extra Class Ham Operator and a member of the Highland LEPC. Mike wanted his friends in and around Highland to know how much he appreciated everyone that allowed him to become part of the community, especially special friends, Jerry, Melody and Madison Moats. He is survived by his daughters Michelle Marie Hendrix of Grottoes and Kathleen Ellen Stone of Dayton; and grandson Michael Trey Stone.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. As Mike would say, 73’s from K4MRH.
