Mr. Michael Robert “Mike” Olive, Sr., a resident of Ozark, died Thursday, December 20, 2018. He was sixty-four years old. A private family graveside service will be held for Mr. Olive at St. John Baptist Church Cemetery in Tarentum, Alabama, with Mr. Joel Robbins officiating, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.

The family will receive friends Saturday, December 22, 2018, at the funeral home in Ozark from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Mr. Olive was born September 30, 1954 in San Francisco, California to the late Robert Henry Olive, Jr. and Bette Muree Lorenzen Olive. Following his service in the United States Navy, Mr. Olive moved to Ozark where he worked with their family business, The Highway Host Motel.

He graduated from Alabama Aviation College with an A&P Mechanic License. He worked with Sikorski in Troy and Army Fleet Service at Fort Rucker for twenty years. He was an avid Auburn fan, coin collector, and gardener.

Mr. Olive loved his family very much and enjoyed his time with them. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Tani Spears. Survivors include his wife of fourteen years, Nell Parker Olive of Ozark; one daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Ryan Mittelbach of Enterprise; three sons, Phillip Downing of Columbus, Georgia, James Blair of Eufaula, and Michael “Sawyer” Olive, Jr. of Ozark; one sister and brother-in-law, Sunni and Johnny Jacobs of the Rocky Head Community.

Eight grandchildren also survive.
