Mike’s wishes were to be cremated and his ashes spread in the ocean. A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Shurlington United Methodist Church, 2060 Shurling Drive, Macon, GA 31211.

Mike was born September 16, 1956, in Norfolk, Virginia. His father, Troy Hammond preceded him in death. He was a retired contractor.

Survivors include his wife, Deena Hammond of Gray; children, Tiffani Peavler (Robby) of Jones County and Staci Rice (Lee) of Gray; mother and step-father, Carolyn and Jack Crawford of Gray; sisters, Arlene Sisson (Rusty) and Pam King of Texas; grandchildren, Maddie Hammond, Cooper Rice, Brynlee Hammond and Toby Peavler. The family may be contacted at the residence of Jack and Carolyn Crawford, 405 Wesley Lane, Gray, GA 31032. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
