Obituary for Michael Wasche Gerard Gerard Michael Wasche, born February 7, 1951, went home to his Savior on April 17, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Inez Wasche (nee Snyder) and his sister, Mary Ann Wasche. Gerard is survived by siblings, Ralph Wasche (Debra), Martin Wasche (Mary), Robert Wasche (Sharon), Bernice Wasche, Karen Newton (Keith), Stephen Wasche (Linda), Stella Mills (George), Joyce Molitor (Paul), Joan Fudge, Amy Marshall, and Edith Wasche.

Gerard is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Gerard was born and grew up in Perham, MN. As a child he was known for his infectious smile and beautiful singing voice.

The seventh of thirteen siblings, he valued and loved his family devotedly and was an attentive son, brother and uncle to the day of his passing. As a boy, Gerard served at St. Henry’s Catholic Church as an altar boy and was involved in Boy Scouts. He graduated from Perham High School in 1969 and went on to serve in the US Army.

After being honorably discharged, Gerard returned to the Perham area, and worked with his father in Taxidermy. He later relocated to the Twin Cities area. There he worked as a painter and was a Union member of the Minneapolis Local 386, from which he retired.

Gerard will be remembered as a thoughtful man who was sensitive to others. He was highly talented and took exceptional pride in his work. He loved long rides, taking in the beauty of nature.

He enjoyed and excelled in the culinary arts. He will be greatly missed by many. Services honoring Gerard’s life will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Prairie Oak Community Church, 1657 161st Ave NW, Andover, MN.
