Obituary of Michael Carr Winthrop – Michael R. Carr, 67, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 at University Hospital SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse. Michael was born on March 1, 1951 in Malone, son of the late Maurice A. and Ruth M. (Gibbs) Carr. After graduation from St. Lawrence Central, he served in the U. S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.

He married Cindy Deno on November 12, 1978. On October 22, 2006, he married JoAnne LaLone, who predeceased him on January 11, 2012. A Master Finish Carpenter, Michael worked for S & H Construction in Massena and enjoyed woodworking in his spare time.

An avid outdoorsman; he liked to hunt, fish, snowmobile, garden and make maple syrup. Mike was a dear friend to many and so proud of his relationship with his children. He is survived by six children; Nathan Carr and Samantha Black of Brasher Center, Melissa Carr and Chad St. Louis of Massena, Kelly and Tim Burkum of Potsdam, Richard Liebfred of Tupper Lake, Kathy Merrick of Mitchell, IN, and Deborah and Felix Rubert of Harker Heights, TX, his siblings; John and Linda Carr of Brasher, Terry and Terry Carr of Norfolk, Donald Carr and Therese Larsen of Tacoma, WA, Richard Carr of Augusta, GA, and Patricia Dishaw of Winthrop, 16 grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two brothers; Dan Carr and Randy Carr. Visitation will be Saturday, January 26th at the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop from 2 to 4pm, followed with a Celebration of Life Gathering Service. Memories and condolences can be shared with his family at www.
