Midge Andringa, age 83, of Sheldon, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Fieldcrest Assisted Living in Sheldon. Funeral Services will be Monday, May 6, 2019 at 1:30 P.M. at the First Reformed Church in Sheldon. Rev.

Paul Van Maaren officiating. Burial to follow at East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon. There will be no scheduled visitation.

Margene “Midge” Frances Andringa, daughter of Daniel and Irene (DeJong) DeKok, was born on March 10, 1936 in Archer, Iowa on the family farm where she lived her youth. She attended school in Archer and graduated from Archer High School in 1954. Midge was taught to play the piano and organ by her mother, and music continued to be a huge part of her life.

She married Don Andringa of Sheldon, Iowa on August 5, 1954 in Archer, Iowa. They lived on the family farm until moving to Sheldon. Midge was a homemaker and taught piano and organ to many kids in the community.

Midge was a member of the First Reformed Church in Sheldon where she was an organist and choir director for many years. She enjoyed golfing, creating floral arrangements, and weekend shopping trips with her daughter-in-law and granddaughter. Midge loved working with her husband, designing and decorating the homes that they would build together.

Midge and Don took a lot of pride in keeping their home and lawn beautiful and well kept. She enjoyed traveling with Don to visit family and hosting family get-togethers. Her family was very special to her.

Her home was always very full of love, music and delicious food. She never forgot her “snitch” of something sweet. She passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Fieldcrest Assisted Living in Sheldon.

Those left to cherish her memories are her son, Mike Andringa of Sheldon, IA, her son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Janet Andringa of Sheldon, IA; granddaughter, Samantha and her husband, Doug Haupert of Sheldon, IA; grandson, Judd Lee Andringa of Sheldon, IA; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dave and his wife, Barb DeKok of Archer, IA, Rev. Donald and his wife Susan DeKok of Alton, IA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Andringa and her parents.
