He was born on July 19, 1931 in Jalisco, Mexico to Meliton Cardenas and Lucia Munguia. Preceeded in death by his siblings, Jesus, Rosendo, Jose, Meliton, Esperanza and Carmen Cardenas.

He is survived by his sons, Jesus Cardenas and wife Leticia, Jose Luis Cardenas and wife Erica , Miguel Cardenas and wife Martha; daughters, Alicia Cardenas and husband Miguel, Teresa Cardenas and husband Luis, Maria Elena Cardenas and husband Manuel, Imelda Cardenas and husband Fernando, Maria Olga Cardenas and husband Santiago, Yolanda Cardenas and husband Luis Felipe and Gloria Cardenas and husband Alfredo; 32 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and also survived by a host of friends. Miguel will be missed dearly.
