Obituary for Mildred F. Henkle Mrs. Mildred Frances Henkle, age 82, of Keystone Heights, Florida, passed away on December 22, 2018, at Shands Starke Regional Medical Center in Starke, Florida. Mildred was born on August 14, 1936, in Owen County, Kentucky to the late Eddie Russel Riddle and the late Beulah Hattie McCurdy Riddle. She married the love of her life, Joe Ross Henkle, Sr., when he was stationed at Fort Knox, KY.

They moved to Florida in 1959 and she began a career with Avon Cosmetics. After working for 19 years, she retired. As a of extra income for Christmas shopping, Mildred picked up a job working for Avis Car Rentals and that short-term job turned into a 10-year career.

In her spare time, she enjoyed watching birds and being outside. She also enjoyed fishing and was proud of her 10 lb bass she caught at Ridge Lakes Estates. She was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church in Starke, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 8 siblings; and great granddaughter, Leia Holly Winter. Mildred is survived by her husband of 61 years, Joe Ross Henkle of Keystone Heights, FL; two sons, Joe Henkle, Jr. of Middleburg, FL, and Steve Henkle of Interlachen, FL; granddaughter, Faith Elisabeth (Erik) Winter of Middleburg, FL; two great grandchildren, Elijah Samuel Winter and Aria Lilliana Winter both of Middleburg, FL; siblings, Vivian, Ida Mae, and Clifford all of KY; numerous extended family members also survive. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, December 27, at 11:00am, at Smyrna Baptist Church in Starke, FL.

The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 10:00am at the church. Brother Charles Starling will officiate the services. Her interment will be at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
