Obituary for Mildred Walstra Mildred Walstra, age 91, of DeMotte, passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Aperion Care. She was born July 8, 1926 in Thayer, Indiana to Samuel and Gertrude (Kooima) Walstra. Mildred attended Thayer Schools.

She worked as an upholsterer seamstress at Al’s Upholstery Shop in DeMotte for 27 years. Mildred was a charter member and Sunday School teacher at First Christian Reformed Church of DeMotte. She taught Friendship Class in Roselawn for 21 years and helped with Hymn singing.

Mildred is survived by 12 nieces and nephews. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Susie Van Schouwen, Peter Walstra, Sena Nannenga, and Elmer Walstra. Friends may call at Jackson Funeral Service of DeMotte from 9:00 to 11:00 AM on Monday, May 14, 2018.

Funeral Services will follow on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Laryn Zoerhof officiating. Interment will be held at Holland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bible League.
