Bob Geeting of West Chester and formerly of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania passed away on October 30, 2018 at the Pocopson Home. He was 93 years old. Bob was born on November 3, 1924, in Ligonier, PA and was the son of the late Milton Edward Geeting and the late Amy Watson Geeting.

After graduating from Ligonier High School, Bob enlisted in the Army Air Corps during World War II, where he completed pilot training school. Following his honorable discharge, Bob furthered his education at the University of Pittsburgh. While at Pitt, he was a member of the university band and played the trumpet.

After graduation, he worked in the family hardware store and as a draftsman for an architectural firm and finally as a commercial salesman for Duquesne Light Company. Bob was an avid Steelers fan and season ticket holder. He dabbled at drawing, enjoyed listening to jazz and collected hobby trains.

Bob always looked dapper in his different colored berets and loved his cars, especially the red Pontiac Solstice convertible! He had lots of friends and was a wonderful father and grandfather. Bob’s humor, fun-loving nature and positive attitude will be missed by all who knew him.

In 2018, Bob will celebrate his 70th year as a Freemason. He was a member of Ligonier Lodge No. 331.

In addition, Bob was a faithful and dedicated Noble of the Mystic Shrine from more than 50 years and was honored in recognition of his services and philanthropic activities for the benefit of hospitals for children. Bob was the beloved father of Jane “Jenny’ Kenney and her husband, Neil of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania and Robert Geeting of Arizona; dear “Pops” of Lauren Hughes (Michael) and Scott Kenney (Laura); great-grandfather of 6. Also survived by his former wife, Jane Wilson Geeting; two nieces and two nephews.

Bob was predeceased by his sister, Mary Louise Carlson. A viewing will be from 10 AM until 11 AM on Saturday, November 3, 2018 with a funeral service at 11 AM at the LONGWOOD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION of MATTHEW GENEREUX, 913 E. Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. Burial arrangements with military honors in Ligonier Valley Cemetery, 105 Nicely Road, Ligonier, Pennsylvania are currently being planned and information will be forthcoming.

Memorial donations would be appreciated in Bob’s name to the Pocopson Home, 1695 Lenape Road, West Chester, PA 19382. Family flowers arranged by LeStyle 25 of Unionville, 610-925-1901.
