Obituary for Mitsuo Shimizu Mitsuo Shimizu, 91, of Lincolnwood, IL passed away peacefully on Friday, June 29, 2018 surrounded by family. He was born on June 4, 1927 in Kealakekua, HI. Mits is survived by his wife, Aiko (nee Sakamoto); son, Ronald (Patrice) of Chicago; granddaughter, Sarah of Berlin; brother, Steve (Dorothy) Shimizu of California, sisters, Momoyo Maehira of Hilo, Betty Morioka of Honolulu, Sue Tanaka of Seattle; and several nieces and nephews.

Mits is an Army veteran of the Korean War, and went on to have a career as a manager at an electronics manufacturer. An avid golfer and former baseball player, he enjoyed travel, food, and gardening. His good nature and gentle spirit will be missed.
