Obituary of Mona Badis Mona Badis (Alhazim), 59, of Clifton, passed away on September 20, 2018 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Damascus, Syria on February 22, 1959 the daughter of the late Salim Alhazim and her surviving mother Nahi Aboualasi. Mona had an advanced Agricultural Engineering degree but ultimately chose to be a loving homemaker to her husband and children.
Mona will always be remembered as a selfless woman who was devoted to her family and was guided by her strong faith. She was always concerned for others around her and showed her love in many ways especially through her exceptional cooking. She was the beloved wife of Tony Badis, the treasured mother of Atena Badis and Fadi Badis (fiancée Jessica Marabondo); and the cherished grandmother of Adrianna Carvalho.
She was the dear sister of Raif and Basem Alhazim and aunt to Celina and God mother to Ryan Alhazim. Visitation will be on Monday, Septmber 24th from 5:00-9:00pm at St. Ann Melkite Catholic Church, 802 Rifle Camp Rd, Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral service will be offered on Tuesday, September 25th at 10:00am at St. Ann Melkite Catholic Church.
Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in Mona’s name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Donate online at: www.
