OBITUARY Monica Fiesta Fernando January 3, 1938 – December 29, 2018 Monica Fiesta Fernando, was born on January 3rd, 1938 in Sarrat, Ilocos Norte, Philippines to Liberato & Anastacia Fiesta. She resided here in Delano for 38 years, ultimately passing on December 29th, 2018 in Delano, CA. She is survived by her husband Benigno Fernando, her son Sam and his wife Mila Fernando, her daughter Cris Mati, her daughter Zenaida and husband Joel Tutop, Her grandchildren Vianca & Bryton Carlson, Ericson & Chelsea Mati, Jhordan & Jenilee Tutop, Monavie & Jakob Layman, Joshua Fernando, and Samira Fernando as well as her great grandchild Jonah Carlson.

Monica also leaves behind her siblings, Johnny Fiesta, Jose Fiesta, Hilaria Paguirigan, & Teddy Fiesta. Monica was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all!

She is preceded in death by her parents Liberato & Anastacia Fiesta, siblings Domingo Fiesta, Vicente Fiesta, Virgie Reloj, Dinicio Fiesta, and Felisa Calantoc, her son Rudolfo Fernando, as well as her son-in-law Eric Mati. A visitation for Monica will be held Friday, January 11, 2019 from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM at Delano Mortuary, 707 Browning Road, Delano, CA 93215, and the rosary will begin promptly at 5:30 PM. A mass of christian burial will occur Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM at St. Mary’s of the Miraculous Medal Parish, 916 Lexington St., Delano, CA 93215 with the committal service following immediately after at North Kern Cemetery District, 627 Austin St., Delano, CA 93215.

Serving as pallbearers are Jhordan Tutop, Ericson Mati, Joshua Fernando, John Castillo, Bryton Carlson and Jakob Layman. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www. delanomortuary.com for the Fernando family.
