Monika (Motaska) Libera, 95 of Indian Orchard, MA passed away peacefully on May 5, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Monika was born in Tonia, Poland, before immigrating in 1964 to the United States. Monika was the beloved daughter of the late Sebastian and Salomea (Krawczyk) Motaska.

Monika was predeceased by her beloved husband of 53 years, Jan Libera; her 6 brothers: Stanislaw, Wojciech, Boleslaw, Henryk, Bronislaw, Jan, and their spouses and sister Zofia (Gorak) Motaska and her husband. She was also predeceased by her son- in -law Piotr Budzyna. She settled in Indian Orchard, MA with her family where she worked briefly in manufacturing before retiring.

Monika was a faithful communicant of Immaculate Conception Church for over 50 years. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, word puzzles, cooking, gardening, and praying. Monika was known for her amazing pierogi, paczki, chrusty, homemade ogurki (pickles), and spirytus for family parties, but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her cherished great-grandchildren.

She was a devoted mamusia (mother) to Genowefa (Libera) Budzyna and her predeceased son-in-law Piotr Budzyna of Indian Orchard, MA; Zbigniew Libera and his wife Janina of Chicopee, MA; an adoring babcia (grandmother) to Marek Budzyna and his wife Danusia of Ludlow, MA; Richard Budzyna and his wife Ana Maria of Ludlow, MA; Anetka Adams and her husband Todd of Guilford, CT; Robert Libera and Faith Ruggiero of Chicopee, MA; she was also Pra-Babcia to her precious great-grandchildren: Piotr M. Budzyna, Cameron and Connor Adams, Grace and Sebastian Budzyna and she also leaves behind her loving niece Stasia Makselon and husband Jan of Chicopee, MA and several nieces and nephews in Poland and the United States. Funeral services for Monika will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 10AM at Nowak Funeral and Cremation Services followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church at 11AM. Rites of Committal in St. Aloysius Cemetery.

Calling hours are Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 5-8PM.
