Mote Woodard “Woody” Mason passed away on a beautiful, sunny Sunday morning, May 5, 2019. He was born on April 9, 1934, in Humnoke, Ark. and married the love of his life, Sherylon, in 1954.

Together they owned and operated Woody’s Hardware in Lonoke for 25 years. After selling the business, he went on to be a rural mail carrier for many years before retiring. He loved and was very devoted to his family, and was very proud to be a 32nd degree Mason.

He was preceded in death by Sherylon, his wife of 61 years, and parents, Mote and Eunice Mason, and his siblings Lynville, Betty Lou, and Marie. He is survived by his sister, Joyce and husband, Dub Blackwood of Little Rock; his son, Craig Mason of Gravel Ridge; his daughter, Melodie Hardke and her husband, Gary of Carlisle; his cherished grandsons, Garrison Hardke and wife, Elizabeth of Marion, Zac Mason and wife, Andrea of Alexander, and Jarrod Hardke and wife, Rachel of Carlisle. He is also survived by three great-grandsons, Mason Hardke, Ben Hardke, and William Hardke, and one great-granddaughter, Madison Claire Hardke.

A special thank you to Elmcroft of Sherwood for their wonderful care over the past two years, and to Beebe Retirement Center for their compassion and kindness the last few weeks. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at the Lonoke Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wade Knox Children’s Advocacy Center, 1835 SW Front Street, Lonoke, AR 72086.
