Obituary for Mr Michael Richard Melzer Michael Richard Edward Melzer, 67, of Fridley, Minnesota went home to his Savior Jesus on July 26, 2018. Michael was born June 26, 1951 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Richard and Irma Melzer. After high school Michael met Joyce Sturm and they were married June 26, 1971.

Michael and Joyce moved to the Minneapolis area where Michael attended North Central Bible College. A car accident and multiple complications that followed left him questioning his faith for many years until the Lord drew him and Joyce back to Himself in the mid 1990’s. With a renewed love for their Savior both Michael and Joyce poured themselves into ministry mentoring college students and teaching home Bible studies.

His love for people and the Lord was evident in all he did. Their home was a place where people were loved, served delicious food, and conversation was abundant. Michael’s health was in decline over the last few years but he served the Lord in whatever capacity he could.

His loving wife, Joyce, was by his side when he left this earth suddenly on July 26. He now stands before the Lord he loved fully healed and fully alive. He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Irma Melzer; brother-in-law, Lee Musial.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joyce, his siblings; Gwen Melzer, Dawn Musial, Tammy Francis, Lisa (Robert) Buth; many nieces, nephews, and treasured friends. Memorial service will be Wednesday, August 1 Grace Evangelical Free Church 755 73rd Ave. NE Fridley, Minnesota 55432 Open Visitation at 10am Memorial Service at 11am Luncheon following In lieu of flowers please donate to a missionary or mission organization of your choosing or the Grace Evangelical Free Church Missionary Fund.
