Obituary for Mrs Faith Marie Gose Gose (Chell), Faith Marie passed away peacefully at the Minnesota Masonic Home on June 25, 2018. Faith was born on October 15, 1931 to parents Arthur and Evelyn Chell. Faith enjoyed her life to the fullest, never missing an opportunity to be with her friends and family that loved her dearly and that she loved just as much.

We will miss the music she played and the ever present smile and twinkle in her eye. Faith is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 45 years, Edwin S. Gose. Faith was born in Benson, MN to a Lutheran Minister and grew up in Buffalo, MN.

They moved to St. Cloud where she graduated from St. Cloud Tech High School and lived in Spring Garden, MN during her college summers when she was not working at the le Sueur Green Giant Canning Factory. She attended Gustavus–Adolphus College earning her degree in teaching and music. Following college, she taught Kindergarten in Grand Rapids, MN and then took the adventure of a lifetime with her best friend Kay to teach in San Diego, CA.

Following her heart, she returned to Minnesota where she continued to teach Kindergarten at Sunny Hollow Elementary in New Hope and met Ed. Faith raised her family in St. Louis Park, MN ultimately retiring in Beaver Bay, MN. She returned to the Twin Cities to receive medical care and to live closer to her immediate family.

Faith was a passionate piano player and taught many young people how to play. Faith was also an early childhood teacher – eager to teach children how to have a positive start in their young lives. She was one of the “Alabama neighborhood house moms” to a cast of characters including: Kim, Danny, Andy, Dena, Robin, Scott and Ryan to name a few…Faith also adored beautiful gardens.

She and Ed ran a small nursery in Beaver Bay, MN during their retirement and shared their love of gardens with everyone she met. Faith was an active participant in her faith community at First Lutheran in St. Louis Park (Spirit of Christ), Sychar Lutheran in Silver Bay, MN and most recently an active Sunday participant at the Order of the Eastern Star Chapel at the Masonic Home. Faith served as an election judge and was a longtime member of the League of Women Voters and was an active Community Volunteer.

Faith is survived by her children: Lisa Gose-Nelson and husband Chris Nelson of Hopkins, MN, granddaughter Elizabeth Drenkow and her husband Shea Drenkow of Minneapolis, her son Stephen A. Gose and his wife Beegee Gose and granddaughter Samantha of Bloomington, MN and brothers Rev. James Chell (Luella Chell) of Edmonton, Alberta, Rev. Theodore Chell (Janet Chell) of Winnipeg, Manitoba and Jonathan Chell (Surya Sahu) of Chicago, IL, sister-in-law Eloise Gose of Phoenix, AZ, and Uncle Hubert Anderson of St. Peter, MN as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Minnesota Masonic Home, Order of the Eastern Star Chapel in Bloomington on Friday, June 29 at 11 am, with visitation one hour earlier and a luncheon to follow at the Minnesota Valley Country Club. A private interment at the Beaver Bay Cemetery in Beaver Bay, MN will be held on a later date. A special thank you to the compassionate staff at the Minnesota Masonic Home for their love and care of our dear mom.

Memorials preferred to the Andrew Thorson Scholarship fund at Gustavus-Adolphus College.
