Obituary for Myron Merle Pickerel Myron “Red” Myron Pickerel, 83, of Walden, Colorado passed away August 20, 2018 at his home. Red was born April 26, 1935 in Northern Colorado to Samuel and Christina Pickerel. He was a real cowboy and worked several ranches in Jackson County.

Rod came to North Park in 1952, He loved it here and made it his home. Red, joined the Army and spent time overseas, was discharged, then called back during the Cuban Crisis, before coming back to to his home here in the Park. Sometime around 2000, Red became a snowbird and started spending his winter months in Arizona, selling the hardware, he had gathered during the spring and summer months around Walden, and Jackson County.

Red loved his dogs and horses. Together they could get any cow headed in the right direction. North Park lost a great cowboy, with lots of stories about Jackson County and its people.

He is survived by his sister, Estel Spotts of Ft. Morgan, Colorado. Preceding Red in death are his parents and 9 brothers and sisters.
