Obituary for Nan Kasid Nan Kasid (nee Joan Torala) 83, of Edina, MN, died October 10th at York Gardens, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s, but never lost her sense of humor. Nan was born October 10th, 1935, in Eveleth MN to parents, Thomas and Julia (Luoma) Torala. Graduated from Gilbert, MN High School, Nan graduated as a registered nurse from Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, in 1956.

Worked as a nurse until retiring in 1995. She is survived by her husband, Alfred; children, daughter, Stacey (Peter) Bozanich of Eden Prairie, and son Andrew (Ann) Kasid of Edina, and grandson Daniel Bozanich; sister-in-law, Lori Larson; brothers-in-law Gary Larson and Gary Kasid, and many nieces and nephews. Nan was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jean Biondich and stepfather, Stanley Jegloski.

Service will be held Wednesday, October 17th at 11:00 am, at Washburn-McReavy Chapel, 5000 W 50th St and Hwy 100, Edina MN. Visitation one hour prior to service. Private family burial will be at Ft.

Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, York Gardens in Edina, or the Alzheimer’s Association of Minnesota-North Dakota. Upcoming Events Visitation , OCT 17.
