Nannie Hilton Barron Maddox, 92, passed away March 14, 2019 at her residence. Visitation will be 5pm-7pm Monday at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst. Services will be 2pm Tuesday at First Baptist Church Chapel with burial at County Line Cemetery.

Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements. She was the only child to J. D. (Major) and Lydia M. Barron born January 29, 1927. She graduated from Crystal Springs High School class of 1945, Blue Mountain College class of 1946, and MBMC Hospital Training (R.

N. ) from 1941-1949. She was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving 1951-1952 in Korean and Japan and from 1952-1954 at the VA in Biloxi and Jackson. Mrs. Maddox married her school sweetheart, V. Clyde Maddox of Crystal Springs in 1954 and they had on child born in 1958, Nancy Lynora Maddox McWhorter.

She had a “lifetime of living”. She was preceded in death by her parents, J. D. and Lydia M. Barron and her husband, V. Clyde Maddox. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy McWhorter of Hazlehurst.
