Nancey Jane Couey, age 90, died Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Heartland House in Wautoma. She was born on August 20, 1928 in the Monterey, WI to Richard and Mary (Kraut) Krakau. Nancey worked as a Surgical Nurse and was Head of Surgical Nursing.

She worked at Trinity Memorial Hospital in Cudahy and retired from Family Hospital in Milwaukee in 1990. On May 2, 1987 Nancey married Robert J. Couey in Cudahy. In 1991 the couple moved from South Milwaukee to Grand Marsh.

Nancey enjoyed gardening, playing piano, arts and crafts and her computer. She especially loved to work with kids. She taught confirmation youth for many years and was involved in many other aspects of the church.

Nancey is survived by her son: David (Sandra) Anderson; granddaughter: Mary Cathryn (Josh Cauley) Anderson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Richard and Mary; infant daughter: Judith Marie Anderson; husband: Robert Couey; brothers: Richard and Gerald Krakau and an uncle: Buck Krakau. Memorial services will be held at 11AM on Friday, December 7, 2018 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Coloma.

The family will greet relatives and friends at church on Friday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Memorials may be given to the church in Nancey’s name.
