Longtime valley resident Nancy Ann Berlinger, 74, passed away on March 13, 2019. She was born on November 17, 1944 in Alamosa, Colorado to Dave Miller and Verna McDonald Miller. Nancy grew up in Alamosa and in her younger years, she loved to barrel race and be around horses.

In 1960 she was the Alamosa attendant for the Ski Hi Stampede Court. She married Stephen S. Berlinger on July 6, 1963 in Denver, Colorado. Nancy was an artist at heart and a dedicated teacher.

She earned her Master’s Degree in Art and spent many years teaching at Bill Metz Elementary School in Monte Vista. Nancy is survived by Kirk (Coie) Lorimer, her children, Connie Gemignani of Colorado Springs and Nick (Alicia) Berlinger of Mosca, her grandchildren, Christina (R.J.), Vanessa, Mitch (Dionna), Jessica, Sara and Caleb, her great granddaughter, Teagan, as well as her nephew Larry Lee Miller, Jr. and other loving extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Stephen and her brother Larry Lee Miller, Sr. Cremation was selected and a Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday March 18, 2019 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa.
