Nancy H. Vaughan passed away peacefully with her husband at her side on July 2, 2018. She was born on March 19, 1936 in Orange, NJ and moved to Claymont, DE in 1943. She graduated from Claymont High School in 1954 and married her husband, James N. Vaughan, that same year.

Along with her husband she is survived by her son, David A. Vaughan, and was a loving and loved Mom-Mom to Andrew J. Vaughan (Ashley), Matthew D. Vaughan (Alison and Mason), and Sarah Elizabeth Vaughan. Nancy completed a two year course of study at the Maryland Institute of Art. She and her husband moved to Catonsville, MD in 1957 and in 1968 her family moved to Howard County.

She worked in her husband’s law office and completed her studies at Howard Community College before graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Maryland at Baltimore County in 1980. Nancy taught English for 19 years at Mt. DeSales Academy in Catonsville, retiring in 1999.

She was an artist, avid reader of biographies and history, and traveled extensively with her husband throughout each and every of the United States. In lieu of flowers or other memorials, those who knew Nancy would understand that she would appreciate if you just went out to dinner and thought of her. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
