Nancy Lou Meadows, 82, of Portsmouth, died Friday, September 7, 2018, with her family by her bedside. Born on May 5, 1936 in West Portsmouth, she was a daughter of the late William and Dorothea Smith Royal and was a homemaker. Nancy attended West High School.

Also preceding her death were her husband, Frederick Joseph Meadows, a son, Douglas Murta, a daughter, Cheryl Burchett; a granddaughter, three brothers, Tom, Charlie and Dick Royal and two sisters, Jerry Hall and Joy Royce. Surviving are three sons, Robert Murta of Portsmouth and Richard (Rimma) Murta and James Gardner, all of Hawaii; two daughters, Theresa Blair and Brenda Mixson, both of Portsmouth; two brothers, William (Sharon) Royal of Portsmouth and Lawrence (Goldie) Royal of Wheelersburg; two sisters, Cora Middleton of Portsmouth and Theresa O’Dell of Dayton; 24 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11th, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Pastor Danny Hall officiating.

Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park. The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
