Obituary for Nancy Marie Givens Nancy Marie Givens, 60, passed away December 7, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. Nancy was born August 17, 1958 in Carthage to Wayne Shofler and Zenanna “Axtell” Morris. Nancy served in the United States Army in the late 70’s and was deployed to Germany.

She was a graduate of Missouri Southern State University, then became an art teacher in the Southwest R-5 School District. She was a member of the Missouri State Teachers Association. Nancy is survived by one son, Michael Stalka, wife Katie and their three children: Whitney, Grant and Elliott of Ballwin, MO; one daughter, Kathleen Hansen and husband Wayne of Republic, MO; two brothers, Melvin Morris and Frank Morris; one sister, Sheila Matlock.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Max Spurgeon, Sheldon Spurgeon, Steven Spurgeon and Jess Spurgeon; one sister, Sandra Morris. A memorial visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.
