Nancye Faye Thomas (McMullan) passed away on May 16, 2019 in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. Nancye was born on August 8, 1940 in Washington, D.C. to Lloyd L. McMullan and Margaret Haran McMullan. She married William Reber Thomas on November 22, 1962 at Glen Carlyn Baptist Road Church in Falls Church, VA.

Nancye and Bill were married 55 years and had two children, Willie and Peggy. Nancye worked for Fairfax County Public Schools in Fairfax, VA at Lake Braddock Secondary School and Chantilly High School in the Food Service Department. She also worked part-time at KinderCare and Child Time.

Nancye was a Military Spouse and lived in many places where the Navy sent her husband, including Puerto Rico and Morocco. She was a previous member of Job’s Daughters in Washington D.C. She was a member of the Akron Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution.

She loved gardening. Nancye was proceeded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Margaret McMullan; sister, Mary Loyd McMullan; brothers, William O. McMullan and Floyd L. “Chip” McMullan; son, William Reber “Willie” Thomas Jr., and husband, William Reber “Bill” Thomas. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Ron Whitcomb; grandchildren, Darr Whitcomb, Ashley Watson (Matthew), David Thomas (Allyson), Dakotah Whitcomb and Amy Thomas; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Bay McMullan; sister-in-law, Missy McMullan; special cousin, Edwyna McMullan Wingo; nieces and nephews, Terri, Patti, Cindy, Lisa, Lori, Bill, Pat, Tony, Gigi, Lani and Lisa and many great nephews and nieces; special friend, Carol Barr, and her grand-animals, Maizee, Goodyear, Wilbur, Loki, Fruit Cup and Phil, who she loved dearly.

Our family would like to personally thank Aarian Epps, her Caregiver and friend who became a family member while being her Caregiver for two years. We would also like to thank the staff of Bath Creek Estates who gave excellent care to Nancye since December 2018. In particular, the Nurses, Aides and Activities Staff went beyond what would normally be expected to provide loving care to her.

We would also like to thank Crossroads Hospice for their care of Nancye and for our family especially during the last few days of her life. No formal services are planned. Interment for Nancye and her husband William will take place at Arlington National Cemetery.
