Naomi Lillian Wallace, 94, of Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday evening September 19th, 2018, to rest in eternal peace with her savior, our Lord Jesus Christ. Born on November 2nd, 1923, in Indianapolis at what was then called the Methodist Episcopal Hospital of Indiana, known today as IU Health Methodist Hospital. where no one else likes to sit. Naomi was a nurturing mother and primary caregiver to her son Patrick for over 23 years who suffered from cerebral palsy and was equally loving to her beautiful daughter Pansy Ann. She was a devoted wife, companion and spouse to her husband Frank.

Don’t let that fool ya though cause Naomi was from a lineage of German immigrants who were known to be a little stubborn at times, and could hold her own ground. She knew her way around a kitchen and wasted nothing as she was a depression era baby and appreciated every meal that God graced her and her family with. She was also very appreciative of every modern convenience that she was afforded.

She could be found singing in the kitchen many weekends, smiling ear to ear while baking some of her specialties such as cherry pie, apricot bars or persimmon pudding with smells to match wafting throughout the house. Naomi will be greatly missed by her family, friends, old neighbors, as well as lifelong friends from the “Valley”. Naomi’s family would like to especially thank all of the Manor Care/Heartland Hospice healthcare aids, nurses and those that directly cared for her over the last 10 years for their compassionate care and support during her lengthy illness.

We would like to Thank Father Steve Banet from St. Jude for his visits over the last few years as well. Please join us for a celebration of Naomi’s life at St. Jude Catholic Church this Saturday morning 09/22 between 9-11am for visitation followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00am. Naomi’s final resting place will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the Society of St. Vincent DePaul or St. Jude Catholic Church in Naomi’s memory.
