Mr. Nathaniel Matlock was born November 9, 1924, in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Goerge Matlock, Sr. and the late Jessie B. Matlock-Mathis. He departed this life on December 22, 2018, at Whitehaven Community Living Facility. He accepted Christ and was baptized under the leadership of the late Nokomis Yeldell, Sr

He worshipped with the Southside Church of Christ, and later placed membership with the Boulevard Church of Christ, where he served faithfully as an Usher. He was employed… Read More » with the City of Memphis Public Works Division and was actively involved during the era of the Civil Rights Movement in 1968-69. After working, he retired with over 20 years of dedicated service.

He leaves to mourn his passing, one sister, Emma Jean Matlock, a son, Damon D. Matlock, Sr. (Sharon), of Allen, Texas, a daughter, Nadolyn D. Matlock, a loving and devoted companion, Ms. Marie Washing, and his extended family; Andrea Crawford (Michael), Alesia Yates, Demeta Polk, Stephenie Washington; Venessa Richmond (Terry) and LaLita Bivens. and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
