Nelda Bettis February 27, 1932 – May 13, 2019 POCAHONTAS – Nelda Jean Bettis, 87, formerly of Highland and Delaplaine, passed away May 13, 2019, in Jonesboro. She was born February 27, 1932, in Monette, Arkansas. She was a member of Ash Flat Church of Christ and had worked as a hairdresser in her beauty shop.

Nelda was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Ruby Newman Hunt; her husband, Robert; and her brother, Bud Hunt. Survivors include her children, Freda and Frankie Arnhart of Jonesboro and Robby and Brenda Bettis of Pocahontas; five grandchildren: Chad (DeAnn), Jeremy (Angela), Brandon, Josh (Shelly), and Clarissa (Brandon); seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Frances (Leroy) Walters of Neelyville, Mo. Graveside services will be Wednesday, May 15, at 2 p.m. in Williford Cemetery with Johnny Carter officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Bernard’s Health Care Hospice, 225 E. Jackson Ave. , Jonesboro, AR 72401. Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.
