Graveside services for Mrs. Nellie Grace Meadows Prince, 89, of Auburn, will be held Monday, February 4, 2019 at 3:30 p.m., CST, at Memorial Park Cemetery of Auburn. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 p.m., CST, at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home. The Reverend Mike McKnight will be officiating.

Mrs. Prince, who died February 1, 2019, was born February 4, 1929, in Alabama, to parents Little Benjamin and Mary Frances Meadows. In 1951, she graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. in Home Economics. She married her husband, James David Prince, Jr. on April 10, 1952.

She worked for the Alabama Cooperative Extension Service as a Choctaw County Extension Agent for 33 years. In 1979, she received Recognition of Outstanding Work with Alabama Elderly, then later, in 1983 she was named Business and Professional Woman of the Year. She also received a Service Award in recognition and appreciation for 33 years of selfless dedication to Alabama Cooperative Extension Service and the people of Alabama.

Mrs. Prince was a member of Butler United Methodist Church until she moved to Auburn in, and then became a member of Auburn United Methodist Church and as well, of Joel McDavid Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Gideon Auxiliary of Choctaw and Lee County. She was also a member of NARFE (National Association of Federal Employees).

She loved cooking, traveling, landscaping, camping, attending Auburn sporting events and was an avid dog lover. Mrs. Prince was preceded in death by her brothers: Marvin Dean Meadows, Benjamin Franklin Meadows, and Cary Randall Meadows: and her sisters: Anne Mae Meadows Weldon and Lois Justine Meadows Hoeflin. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, James David Prince Jr.; daughters: Suzanne (Mark) Pless of Tifton, Georgia, and Jamie (Todd) Mitchell of Auburn Alabama; and many loving nieces and nephews.
