Nellie Louise James, 86 of Wooster died Monday January 7, 2019 at Life Care Hospice of Wooster. She was born August 19, 1932 in Ashland Co. the daughter of Glenn W. and Lucinda E. Hagerman Funk. She was a hostess/cashier for Howard Johnson’s Restaurant.

Nellie attended the Moreland Methodist Church and was a member of the helping hands sewing club of Moreland. She was raised by her mother’s sister and husband, Bessie and Clarence Bower from the age of 16 months and they were wonderful foster parents. She is survived by her husband, Glenn James, to whom she was married, July 15, 1950, her son, Donald G. (Roberta) James of Wooster, two granddaughters, Stacy (Chad) Clippinger and Lindsay McLaughlin, 1 great granddaughter, Parker Clippinger, and three great grandsons, Brandt Clippinger, Jaxon Clippinger and Kaleb McLaughlin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her foster parents, a great grandson, Peyton Clippinger, 8 brothers, Miles, Clarence, Lewis, Roy, Kenneth, Wilbur, Harold, and John Funk, and two sisters, Virginia Billheimer and Mary Chapman. Services will be 1:00 PM Friday January 11, 2019 at Moreland United Methodist Church 138 Moreland Road Wooster, OH 44691 with Pastor Tom Fish officiating. Burial will be in Moreland Cemetery.
