Nicola Giammarino Sr., age 93, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Nick leaves a legacy in Springfield, MA, where he was born and raised. A merchant marine for 25 years, he sailed the world over, always showing compassion and generosity to those less fortunate.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 40 years, Barbara Giammarino, and five children – Jason Elliott, Jesse Elliott, Jus Crea Giammarino, Nicola Giammarino Jr., Jocelyn Giammarino – and grandson Kinabe Dana. He is also survived by his brothers Salvatore Giammarino, Anthony Giammarino, Lou Giammarino, and sister Rose Giammarino. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Summit View Banquet Hall at 555 Northampton St. Holyoke, MA, on Monday July 30 from 4-8pm.
