Nikki’s Obituary Nikki Kay (Johnson) Barta Nikki Barta, of Aurora and Solon, passed away peacefully on March 1 at age 77 surrounded by family. She died from complications from pneumonia. Nikki was born in Spring City, Tennessee, to Howard Johnson and Lenora (Nelson) Johnson and moved to Ohio as a baby.

After graduating from Brush High School, Nikki worked at WS Tyler company, where she met her future husband Leslie A. Barta. Les and Nikki were married in 1963; they had been married 55 years at the time of her death. Nikki is survived by her husband Les of Aurora; son Michael Barta of Memphis, Tennessee (Anne Emmerth); daughter Christine Fetsko of Twinsburg (Mark); and grandson Matthew Fetsko.

Nikki worked professionally in a variety of administrative and office manager roles in Solon. Nikki loved travel, playing cards, chocolate, cats, and excursions with her girlfriends. She was a loyal and longtime friend to many.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to benefit Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) or any local organization that helps cats.
