Obituary for Nina J. Valent Nina J. Valent, 72, of N. Belle Vernon, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018. A daughter of the late Raymond and Ethel Pearl Grubb Lemley, she was born in Van Meter on May 5, 1946. A resident of N. Belle Vernon most of her adult life, Nina had been a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She loved cooking and was known for her famous cabbage rolls. Nina had worked at the N. Belle Vernon firemen’s bingo for several years and worked for several years at the Collinsburg bingo until her recent illness. Survivors include Joseph Tillman with whom she shared 30 years; a daughter Jody (Dennis) Grove of Rostraver Twp.
; two sons, Michael (Angela) Valent of Kansas City, KS, and Kevin (Jennifer Hague) Valent of Columbus, OH; eight grandchildren: Brianna Frederick, Emily Frederick, Mary Jo Grove, Katie Lynn Seifried, Dennis Grove, Jr., Kensington Valent, Hope Boyce, and Dalton Boyce; two sisters, Lorraine Quintier and Patricia (Charles) Christner, both of N. Belle Vernon; two brothers, Jim Lemley of Belle Vernon and Michael (Lana) Lemley of Rostraver Twp. ; four sisters in-law, Ruth Lemley of Arnold City, Gloria Lemley of WV, Patricia Lemley of Belle Vernon, and Ruth Lemley of OH; a brother in-law, Don Krasonic of Rostraver Twp. ; and her former husband, Joseph Valent of N. Belle Vernon.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Heidi Frederick on November 10, 2013, four sisters: Alberta Bittner, Mary Lassale, Barbara Krasonic, and Betty Lemley in infancy; and five brothers: Robert, Glen, Leonard, Carl, and Donald Lemley.
