OBITUARY NOBUKO TYSELING September 27, 1941 – January 7, 2019 On January 7, 77 year old Nobuko Tyseling passed away at Sharp Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa. During World War II, Nobuko Komesu was born on Ponape Island, Okinawa Japan. The difficult times brought on from the war, forced Nobuko to drop out of school and help support her family.
Unfortunately, Nobuko’s mother, Take, did not survive the war, but her father Seisho, her brother Kiyomichi, and her two sisters Harue and Simiko remained as a family. In 1964, Nobuko fell in love with and married Jake Tyseling, a Marine. Shortly after their marriage she set out for the United States with her new husband on a Naval ship and arrived in San Diego in 1964.
She resided in San Diego until the newly wedded couple was ordered to move to Texas. In Wichita Falls, she worked for the Air Force at Sheppard Air Force Base. Again in 1977, Nobuko packed her bags and returned to San Diego.
Previous overseas deployments included stressful times while her husband was deployed in the Vietnam and Gulf War in Kuwait and Iraq. During her husbands deployments, Nobuko took care of their two young children Jacob and Brenda Tyseling. Nobuko worked at the 32nd Street Naval Station and retired after 30 years of service.
While in the United States, Nobuko became a devoted mother of two, attended cooking school, learned English, and became a proud citizen of the United States. Nobuko’s courage, loyalty, dedication, and sacrifices as a 30 year Marine Corps wife speaks for itself. Her loving personality and passion for giving will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
Nobuko is survived by her husband Jake, son Jacob, daughter Brenda, daughter-in-law Lisa and three granddaughters Brianna, Brielle, and Julia.
