Pankonin, Noreeta “Rita” Age 81, of Hugo, Minnesota, passed away after a long and courageous battle with Kidney Disease on December 6, 2018. Rita was a faithful and funny woman who loved her trips to the casino, playing games on her Kindle, and taking time to watch the birds. She was a loving and caring Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Friend.

She is preceded in death by parents, George and Ione (nee Carpenter) Phelps; sisters, Marion Phelps and Norma Lemon; daughter-in-law, Debra K. Miller. Survived by husband of 42 years, Emil; children, Tina (Leon) Alden of Amery WI, Keith (Kim) Miller of Stacy, MN, Gene (Kathy) Miller of Scandia, MN, Robert Miller of Hugo, MN; brothers and sisters; Gloria (John) Michels of St. Anne, IL, George (Karen) Phelps of Webster, WI, Linda Smiley of Danbury, WI, John (Kathy) Phelps of Danbury, WI, Beverly (Donald) Liljeberg of Webster, WI, Ed (Fran) Phelps of St Anne, IL; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; many nieces & nephews that she loved so much. A Memorial Service will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at New Life Church, 6000 148th St N, Hugo.

The family will greet friends one hours prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
