Norma Dean Rye Smith brightened the world when she was born on December 1, 1941. She added a sweet soul to heaven when she joined her husband, Paul on March 9, 2019. Norma is better know as mom to more than her own children, Rick, Denise, and Jennifer, any “kid” who met her would immediately adopt her.

These kids include her Montessori students from her time as a primary teacher and expands to those who just met her. Because of her caring, non judgmental nature, she is the perfect maternal model for us all. Her children and six grandchildren are packing away her Wonder Woman cape because she doesn’t need it in heaven.

They will make sure her three great grandchildren know that the best human being on the planet has moved on but the love she envelopes us in will always be with us. We will try to emulate her brilliant sense of wonderment whenever we miss her, understanding reality but believing in the best in all people.
