OBITUARY Norma Gene Otte August 19, 1930 – October 15, 2018 Norma Gene Otte, age 88, formerly of College Station passed away on Monday October 15, 2018 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Lakeway, Texas. A celebration of life for Norma will be held Friday, October 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station. Interment will follow at College Station Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Sullivan, Daniel Schorlemmer, Mason Cargile, Jon Howerton, Andrew Howerton, and Matthew Oliver. Norma was born August 19, 1930 in Tolar, Texas the daughter if Joe Talmadge Wood and Ethel Ophelia (Camp) Wood. Norma and Elroy Otte were married on October 15, 1949 in Melvin, Texas.

She was a teacher/reading specialist and a member of First Baptist Church of College Station. Mrs. Otte was preceded in death by her husband on January 19, 2016. Survivors include three daughters, Vikki Schorlemmer & husband Rodney of Beeville, Pam Otte & husband Brad Cargile of Austin, Melinda Otte of Fort Worth; sisters, Melba Anderson & husband Lavon of College Station, Barbara White & husband Harold of Three Rivers; brother, Gale Wood & wife Sandra of Bryan; three granddaughters, Emily Lynch & husband Mike of Portland, TX, Tessa Cargile of Austin, and Gini Howerton & husband Jon of College Station; four grandsons, Jeremy Sullivan & wife Amanda of San Antonio, Daniel Schorlemmer of San Antonio, Mason Cargile of Kingwood, and Matthew Oliver of Fort Worth; and nine great grandchildren.

The family requests that any memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
