Norma Jean Heatherly December 24, 1939 – January 22, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Sympathy Card Norma Jean Heatherly, 79, of Du Quoin, passed away at 2:16 A.M., Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at the Du Quoin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Norma had been a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin.

Norma was a wonderful cook. She was born December 24, 1939 at Du Quoin, IL, the daughter of Albert and Mabel (Slover) Perkey. She married John Dale Heatherly on June 19, 1961 at Newport, AR and he preceded her in death on December 4, 1999.

She is survived by four children – Laura Ann Jinks and husband Jef of Carbondale, Kim Sue Giffin and husband Raymond of Mt. Carmel, Steven Dale Heatherly and wife Rhonda of Du Quoin and Rick Wayne Heatherly and wife Kim of Du Quoin, five sisters – Connie Smith, Betty Sronce and Judy Rybacki, all of Du Quoin, Patti Crowe and Donna Ripley, both of Murphysboro, two brothers – Leo Perkey of Du Quoin and Roger Perkey of Pinckneyville, ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister – Linda Restoff and one brother – Robert Perkey.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M., Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M., Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
